My Macbook caught a cold !
Didn’t know macbook can catch cold..well..i did leave it next to a windows machine. The last thing that happened on my macbook was, the VM running windows xp crashed and it caused the mac to hang. When I rebooted it, it complained the spotlight could not startup. When I ran a verify my disk (disk utilities), it said there is an error on the filesystem.
So the next step was to repair the disk, so i did that, but that didn’t work(sounds like Dr. House), this time it said there is an overlapping node allocation, which pretty much means the filesystem thinks there are two files on the same memory location. The next step was:
1. to get Disk warrior  – expensive and didn’t have the budget for it
2. Reinstall OS X Â – Â which means I will lose all my setting and data.
3. Restore from a time machine backup  – yes gooood option !
Whats my final answer ?Â
I choose option number 3 !(yes…i do backup my macbook via time machine.)
