Find my iPhone

iPhone is not cheap and especially with the amount of data we put in it.  Losing an iPhone can be agonizing. Apple has a way to locate your iPhone anywhere in the world, it used to be part of the paid mobileme program. You can subscribe to the program for $99/yr and “Find my iPhone” was part of the a whole set of service that came with it.  MobileMe does come with a feature rich service,  however I didn’t feel the need for it expect for the find my iPhone feature, but couldn’t justify the $99/yr fee .

Few months ago, Apple decided to make that feature free.  Now you can create an Apple ID to login to mobileme to find your precious iPhone.

First you setup the mobileme account on your iPhone under Setting -> Mail, Contact , Calendar .  Once you verify the email account, your are all set, just login to www.me.com with the apple id and you can locate your iphone.  Detailed instructions can be found here.
