On July last year I wrote about SQL Server license model , in this article I will write about how IBM does their DB2 UDB licensing model.  IBM measures their license based on  PVU (Processor Value Unit).   PVU is calculated based on the type of CPU and the amount of core that will be used or allocated to DB2 system.  The calculation differs for each CPU vendors.  Below table is from an IBM site that shows how they calculate PVUs for DB2 and other products .
