Database System Views – A quick comparison
One of the best friends of Database Administrators , irrespective of race(read engine) and religion (read edition)  are the System Views.  System Views have simplified troubleshooting and performance tuning a lot in the past few years. Couple of versions ago DBAs had to write complex scripts and stored procedures to join, extract, transform and compare data to reach performance matrix. But now the database vendors got smarter and created system and dynamic views that does all that behind the scene and give the DBAs the information in a more intelligent fashion.
