glance on DB2 licensing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On July last year I wrote about <a href=\"https:\/\/techsatwork.com\/blog\/?p=586\">SQL Server license model<\/a> , in this article I will write about how IBM does their DB2 UDB licensing model. \u00c2\u00a0IBM measures their license based on \u00c2\u00a0PVU (Processor Value Unit). \u00c2\u00a0 PVU is calculated based on the type of CPU and the amount of core that will be used or allocated to DB2 system. \u00c2\u00a0The calculation differs for each CPU vendors. \u00c2\u00a0Below table is from an <a href=\"http:\/\/www-01.ibm.com\/software\/lotus\/passportadvantage\/pvu_licensing_for_customers.html\" target=\"_blank\">IBM site<\/a> that shows how they calculate PVUs for DB2 and other products
